It was a great honour to be selected as Labour’s candidate for Wellington Central on Saturday.   I am very proud to be the representative of such a motivated and focused group of people as the Wellington Central organisation.  We are taking nothing for granted, but I am confident with the team we have we will be able to retain the seat for Labour, and make our contribution to the party vote to elect a fourth term Labour led government.My selection speech is above.  It is missing a few of the ad libs, but hopefully gives you a flavour of the issues I think will be important in Wellington, where I am coming from politically, and the pride and hope I have for Labour and New Zealand.The hard work does begin now.  I am grateful for all the support I have had to this point, and I really look forward to working with everyone who has offered their support.
