A bit of a blog catch-up. Tuesday was a big day on the campaign trail ( some photos below). I started off talking to the classes at Karori West School who have been doing a unit on the election. It was a great session, and the kids asked about everything from the global economic crisis to Winston Peters to why I wanted to go into politics. Then it was off to a session with the entrepreneurs from Silicon Welly. I brought along Michael Cullen, and it was a very interesting conversation indeed. There was an acknowledgement of the importance of support from NZTE, FRST and the business incubators to getting the companies going. There was also some clear need demonstrated for finding ways of supporting capital to go towards these start up businesses, and to provide improved off-shore support. I know Dr Cullen was impressed with what he saw and heard. Then it was the Aro Valley Debate. If I get time I will do a seperate post, but it was great fun to participate in. Here is Danyl’s take on it.
