By the wonder of modern technology, here is the the video of my maiden speech. Enjoy, and thank you to everyone who has given me messages of support it means a lot to me. Tonight we completed the maiden speeches of the new members of the 49th Parliament. I am so proud of the new Labour team. Their speeches were passionate, principled and laden with the values and ideas that keep our party strong.

Maiden Speech
December 12th, 2008Yesterday was a big day. It is hard to describe the feeling of delivering my maiden speech in Parliament. I felt humbled to stand in Parliament, and so grateful to the people of Wellington Central for the opportunity. It was fantastic to see so many family and friends in the gallery as well.
